Superman ‘Man of Steel’ Teaser Arrives

The first official teaser footage for Man of Steel, director Zack Snyder’s shot at re-invigorating Superman for the movie-going public, is now online. Many have expected the trailer to be a trimmed-down version of the clip recently shown at the San Diego Comic Con; rather, it appears to be an almost entirely different clip. The footage is a teaser in the true sense of the word, offering only a brief (but impressive) glimpse of the Last Son of Krypton at the end. It is surprisingly moody and earthy in tone, and gives rise tot he hope that Snyder’s take on the character will have depth and maturity (think Superman by way of Terence Malick). (It can’t be much worse than his last movie, the hollow vanity project Sucker Punch.) The movie is scheduled for release on June 14, 2013.
