Chris Vognar’s Screening Room series resumes with six-part look at classic comedies, beginning with a free screening of the classic Marx Bros. comedy Duck Soup (1933) at 7:30pm, August 9, at the Angelika Theater. Vognar, film critic for the Dallas Morning News, will discuss the movie afterwards. Details

The Dallas Museum of Art continues its Dallas on Film! series with a screening of Oliver Stone’s adaptation of Eric Bogosian’s play Talk Radio (1988) at 7pm, August 9, in the museum’s Horchow Auditorium. James Faust, Artistic Director of the Dallas Film Society, will discuss the film industry in Dallas. Details

The Inwood Theatre’s Midnight Madness feature for this week is Quentin Tarantino’s breakthrough crime movie Pulp Fiction (1994) on Friday and Saturday, August 10 and 11, at the theater. Details
