This Week’s Special Screenings

The Dallas Film Society continues its Summer Screenings series with a free screening of Alan Miller’s acclaimed documentary The Turandot Project (2000) at 7:30pm, July 16, at the Studio Movie Grill. Details

Cinemark Theaters and Paramount Studios continue their Reel Classics summerfilm series continues with a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic thriller North by Northwest (1959), 2 and 7pm, July 18, at select Cinemark theaters. Details

The Dallas Museum of Art continues its Dallas on Film! series with a screening of the documentary The Store (1983), 7pm, July 19, in the museum’s Horchow Auditorium. Historian Jackie McElhaney will introduce the film with a brief discussion on the history of department stores, including the movie’s main subject, Neiman-Marcus. Details

The Dallas Film Society will also present a free outdoor screening of the Academy Award-winning silent movie The Artist (2011) at 9pm, July 19, at the Nasher Sculpture Center. Details

The Inwood Theatre’s Midnight Madness feature for this week is Nicolas Winding-Refn’s instant cult classic Drive (2011) on Friday and Saturday, July 20 and 21, at the theater. Details
