This Week’s Repertory Films:

The Texas Theatre’s Kimono Club series — featuring the best in Japanese cinema, bad karaoke, Kirin and sake bombs — continues with Sogo Ishii’s punk rock sci-fi musical Burst City (1982), 9pm (karaoke at 8pm), March 18, at the theater. Details

The Magnolia’s The Big Movie classic films series continues its Great Directors showcase with a screening of Stanley Kubrick’s mind-bending, groundbreaking science fiction epic 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), 7 and 9:50pm, March 20, at the theater. Details

The Texas Theatre will also screen the Chinese pseudo-western Let the Bullets Fly (2010) starring the world’s greatest action hero: Chow Yun-Fat, 8:15pm, March 23, at the theater. Co-presented by Well Go USA Entertainment and the Asian Film Festival of Dallas. Prizes will be given away, and one lucky person will win a VIP pass to the 11th Annual AFFD. Details

The Inwood Theatre’s Midnight Madness features for this week will be Tommy Wissau’s bizarre cult hit The Room (2003) on Friday night, and midnight movie mainstay The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) on Saturday night, March 23 and 24 respectively, at the theater. Details

Also at the Texas: D.W. Griffith’s silent-era epic Martyrs of the Alamo (1915) presented with a live score by The Invincible Czars, 8pm, March 25, at the theater.  Details

'Girl Boss Guerilla'The Texas Theatre’s Kimono Club series next installment will be the girl-bikers-run-amok action flick Girl Boss Guerilla (1982), 9pm (karaoke at 8pm), March 25, at the theater. Details
