Udo Kier (far right) and others star in 'Iron Sky'
Blind Spot Pictures has released the first four minutes of the science fiction comedy Iron Sky on YouTube in a bid to work up early buzz — as if a comedy about the invasion of Earth by an army of Nazis from the dark side of the moon was apt to fall through the cracks.
Directed by Timo Vuorensola and starring Udo Kier, Christopher Kirby, Götz Otto, and Julia Dietze, Iron Sky opens in theaters on April 4, and early reviews are mixed (a 7.9 on IMDb, but a 50% on Rotten Tomatoes — albeit out of only four reviews so far). Honestly, they had me at “space Nazis from the moon”. I’m hoping for Mars Attacks meets Saving Private Ryan.
